Able to enter timesheet on cancelled administrative task

Hi,

I would like to find out the answer to the followings:

1) Are team members allowed to enter timesheet information on the cancelled
administrative task? I found out that the team member are able to enter
timesheet for the cancelled task and update it but the manager will not
received any information on these. Shouldn't the timesheet row for cancelled
task be blocked out so the team member will not be confused?

2) What's the correct way to cancel an administrative task? E.g. A team
member accidentally assign himself to a wrong administrative task, can he
unassign himself without getting the project manager to reject it?

Unfortunately yes the team member is able to enter actuals for deleted tasks but the task deleted appears on his time sheet with a big X sign showing him that this task is no more for you or it has been deleted and all he should do it to hide this task from the tool bar above the tasks and that will solve the problem.
for your second question once you assign your self to as task or create a task for your self you can't edit it. I don't know what happens in the case of existing task since in our company we assign all tasks we don't let the member assign him self to an existing task but for creating a new task if he found out that he made a spelling mistake for example or this is not actually the task he want to do he can hide this task unless he updated it to the manager. in that case he should contact the project manager to delete this task and create a new one again.
