about maximum units and assignments units in administrative project.

Hi,

when we make administrative project what we assign maximum units and
assignments units to resources whether these resources are already worked on
other projects.

If we assign maximun units or assignments units 100 percent to theses
resources then it will overallocation for them . and those resources will
show in RED color in the Resource Sheet. we will set maximun units and
assigments to 100 % or 0 % for them or something else .
and what we will do for their request/demand settings in administrative
project .
and what is effect in scheduling of the project if we set request or demand
for the resource in administrative and normal project.

pls reply me soon

Regards

I would suggest that you set up your Admin projects as Fixed Duration /
Non Effort Driven. Set the duration to some defined period of time
(Month, Quarter, Year). You can allocate some hours to tasks on the
project but this will still impact availability.

You can also set those tasks to be zero units. However, the first time
someone enters time against a fixed duration task like that, the task
will be complete and will fall off the "Current Tasks" view. You will
need to train your users to use the "All Tasks" view.

If there are pure admin tasks (Vacation, Sick time, etc) then you might
want to use the Microsoft Admin plan, which doesn't allocate any "work"
to tasks.
