my mom just bought office for me a couple of weeks ago, and it turns out that
it's on a dvd, and my comp only has a cd drive. is there a way to exchange it
for a cd version?

www.newegg.com has them for much less. That's where I bought my two
DVD-RAM.
They constantly have specials with free shipping.

| It's easier to get a DVD drive and install it. They can be found for about
| $50 these days.

i don't have the money to buy a dvd-ram, nor do i have the space in my comp
to put it, which is why i was asking if there's a way to trade it in for a cd
version.

You can certainly ask the vendor from whom you purchased the software.

if i waited until i got the money, could i put the dvd drive into the comp in
place of the cd drive and still use cds? if so, how would i go about doing
it? would i uninstall the cd drive and then install the dvd drive? would my
comp be able to recognize the dvd drive if i did that?

You'll have to ask the party at Microsoft from whom the software was
purchased. They're the ones who will have the answer.

Nobody in this newsgroup can speak for them.

Which edition of Office did you get? If it is one of the trial
editions here

I think that you can download the trial and use the purchased project
key to convert it to the full product.

I also know that MS will send you CD's if you ask for them. I haven't
found where to ask.
