About upgrade process from 2003 to 2007

Hello All!
We just plan to upgrade our Office 2003 to 2007. This is my first time
to do this kind of upgrade, so I have several questions.
1. Is it better to remove the 2003 then make installation from scratch
or simply make a ugrade?

2. For install from scratch, is there a msi file include in the DVD so
that we could deploy by GPO or we need to create our own? Is there any
other tool in Microsoft's BDD (Business Desktop Deployment) 2007 kit
and the Office 2007 Resource Kit that I need to use during the
deployment? And any one who knows the standard deployment process that
I could follow?

3. Again if I choose to upgrade, do I need to use USMT or any other
tools, is there a msi file included so that we could do it through
GPO? And is there a standard process that I could follow?

Our environment is All-XP. no Vista.

Thank you very much!

SIncerely,
Ben

Hi Benny,

You may want to review the deployment scenarios in the MS Office 2007 Resource Kit (http://microsoft.com/office/ork) including those
for GPO deployment. MS Office 2007 uses not one, but, with a new architecture over prior versions, multiple .MSI files. For user
created customization files it uses .MSP (Microsoft Installer Patch) files and the .MSP files can be deployed using the Office 2007
setup tools, but .MSP files aren't supported by the MS Installer program for GPO deployments.

There are several ORK tools. The one built into Office is the Office Customization Tool (OCT), but there is also a set of tools,
the Office Migration Planning Manager you may find helpful in preparing.
