Academic License key on OEM install?

I have a customer with an academic license key, but no CD. I have the OEM
Office 2007 Preinstall kit, however can't get it to accept the license key.
Do I have to have an academic CD in order to apply an academic license key?

I have another customer with an academic license, however this was a full
product pack rather than a license only purchase, would the CD from his
package work with the volume license key?

I have tried the OEM web site, however despite completing the necessary
changes on the partner site, it won't give me access :(

Thanks in advance.

They have ordered additional licenses and got a 2007 key this time, previous
versions were 2003 and they didn't order new media.

Will have to get them to order a CD, I was trying to get their new PC's up
and running without the delay of getting the CD delivered.

Thanks

Yes - the product key only works for that specific product version. No
clue if using that other version will work. Why doesn't your client have
his CD?
