Acc 97 -> Acc 2000: query conversion

S

Sheila Stanick

We are beginning the process of converting an Access 97
program mdb to Access 2000. The database is moving from
SQL 7 to SQL 2000. Two different people I have talked to
said that they had to make changes to most or all of the
queries in order to get them to work. These persons did
not offer any more help. I have been unable to find any
information in this area in any of the white papers I have
located. What should one look for when it comes to
converting the queries? The problem, as told to me, was
that the queries did not return the proper recordset.
Thanks, Sheila.

If you leave the queries in Access, most of them
will still work. If you convert the queries to SQL
Server, most of them will become Read-Only. The
conversion wizard in Access XP does a better job
than the A97 conversion wizard at converting queries.
