Accepting meetings in Outlook Calendar vs. through Inbox?

Is there a difference say if an user accepts meetings directly from her
Outlook calendar vs. from Inbox when a new invite comes in? This user has
some meetings disappeared from her calendar, and from my understanding,
every once in a while she would go through the Inbox and remove meeting
invites they are more than few months old. Would this have any side effects
when organizer revised the calendar and send updates?

Much appreciate your inputs.
