Accepting resource updates

When I go to accept/reject resource work, Project Server will allow me to
reject. But it will not allow me to accecpt. I get an error that says I must
have Project Professional 2003 in order to perform this action. If I have it
loaded then, it says I need to be accessing the correct account for Project
Server. If this is true, then the enterprise features must be enabled.

So, all these things are true. Any ideas on what might be causing the problem?

Thanks,
Deann

D:

It's very important that you use the same URL to access project server
through the Project Client, that you use when calling up PWA. IOW, you can't
use the machine name for one and a DNS friendly name for the other.
Likewise, you can't use ip address in one and machine name in the other.
Does this apply to your situation?

Gary,

Yes. I logon to the URL address and MSPP points to the server by name. So,
these need to match...

Thanks for you help. I'll see if the Admin can set this up.

Per my previous message, I think I answered a bit too quick ;-)! PWA points
to the server as does MSPP, but access is through the URL for the server. So,
I'm not sure how this answers your question...

Thanks,

D - I had this very situation come up in my area today. Our IT dept had made
some changes with the servers and we all had to change our URL for web access
as well as the server address when opeing MS Project Pro. One person was on
vacation and didn't get the full information. He changed the URL for the web,
but didn't go into Project to make that change. He got the exact message you
stated. I opened his Project, selected Tools, Enterprise Options, and then
the Project Server Accounts option. I set the correct URL for the server
entry and he worked fine after that!

Debbie,
These URL's match. The thing is it worked fine for awhile. When I opened
MSPP the Project Server Security Logon box opened and I entered UN and PW.
Now that box just hangs. If I click cancel, another box opens which allows me
to select the connection and then it logs on. But, I am not asked for UN or
PW again.

Thanks for all your help.
