How mush trouble will I be looking at by moving my db from works 4.5a to
Access? Any suggestions?

It is not too hard to move the data. however, ms-access can't import works
data direct.

you can either:
export the data from works to a format that ms-access can read (such as
comma delimited, or excel).
You then import that data into ms-access

Another way is to use Excel, and import the data. Once saved as Excel, then
again ms-access can import the data.

As Albert says, you must migrate the data via Excel (or as an exported
text file).

However, the user interface - the forms and screens used to view and
edit data in Works - must be recreated from scratch. An Access Form is
more powerful (and more complex) than a Works form, but has nothing in
common with it.

It's still a step in the right direction though!
