Hi There,
having a random problem with an Access 2000 project (OS
is XP Pro). I cannot think of anything that may have
caused it! I'm not that compute literate...so bear with
me!
I use an Access project to connect to an SQL database on
the net. It was working fine until last week - normall
all I have to do is open the project, type in my
username/password & hepresto!
However, now when it asks me for my username/pwd I get
the following message:
"Access was not able to perform this operation because
the project is not connected to a SQL database"
This is not the message I normally got when I entered a
wrong user/pwd!
WHAT I KNOW:
1. if I type in the wrong user/pwd I get the same
message...so I assume it is a problem within the PC/Access
2. the project works fine on my other PC which is
connected to the internet using the same ISP connection
3. I have tried downloading all Windows updates & Office
updates. I have also tried repairing Access &
reinstalling Office.
4. After the message is displayed & I click "OK" the
project opens....when I go to File>connection nothing
happens - there is no error message or anything, clicking
on "connection" just has no effect whatsoever (usually
when I go to view the connection it displays the ip
address, username etc....even if the connection is not
working it still displays)
5. I did not create the project myself & know very little
about how it works!
Your opinions much appreciated!
