Access 2000 crashes when you click on switchboard item

I have Access 2000 installed on a Windows 2000 SP 4 machine. When I
open a database stored on the network then click on a switchboard item,
I get a Dr. Watson special as follows:

"MSACCESS has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program."

The Dr. Watson log:

Application exception occurred:
App: (pid=1080) ---> MSACCESS.EXE
When: 12/9/2003 @ 08:44:37.877
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

This problem does not occur if I bypass the switchboard and go straight
to the form.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
