Access 2000 Macro Security

I have an Access 2000 database with macros. I have it replicated in several
places. I cannot run the autoexec macro and I cannot open any macros in
design view as design view is greyed out. It I convert the replica to the
master, then the macros work. What do I do to make the macros work in the
replica. I have not been able to find anything about enabling macros.
