Access 2000 on Vista

I have a situation with a number of corrupted mdb files when they are opened
on a machine running Vista. If I also try and compact/repair I get a message
"The Visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt"
displays a number of times and then MsAccess.exe hangs with AppHangB1 Message.

I seem to have lost a number of field values in a number of tables.

Are there any issues with This Access version on Vista? (9.0.3821 SR-1)
Are there any tools (other than Compact/Repair within Access) that can pull
mdb file together again?

It is difficult to guess what’s happening. Vista has a stricter policy access
control than XP on security.

To my knowleged on A2K, it is advisable not to install on Vista without
getting or doing a research.

One of the reasons of getting errors is that A2K may need access to certain
folder or folders to modify files, which A2K may lack of access security
thereby causing problems to your database.

As I do not have Vista, you have to check the security settings for the
current user and make sure that A2K has access to files/folders.

Are you running 2000 ONLY (no other Access versions) on the Vista machine?

If you need to repair the mdb files, you may try Advanced Access
Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/aar/ This tool is rather useful in
salvaging damaged Access MDB files.
