Access 2002 not installed for this user

A few weeks ago, I had trouble with the Installer starting up for no reason,
so I used the Installer Cleanup Utility. Then Excel and Word wouldn't start,
so I reinstalled MSOffice SBE, which took care of Word and Excel. But
Access2002 still wouldn't start. So I tried reinstalling it from the upgrade
CD (purchased Access97 separately from Office SBE). But it is looking for the
original installed product (97) which is long gone from the computer, and I
can't find the 97 CD.

So now when I try to start Access, it starts up but immediately gives me the
message: Access is not installed for this user. Well, I have only one user
under XP and that's me with Admin priveleges (I disabled the Guest user eons
ago).

Is there someplace in the registry where I can tell Access that I am the
user that it was installed for?

Thanks for your help.
