Access 2003 Database crashes

We installed hotfix from KB article 945674 because we were getting frequent
Access database crashes (meaning we would get one of those "not enough
memory" errors and then the database would close and we'd have to re-open
it). The crashes are a lot less frequent, but they still occur. Is there
anything else that I might try in order to eliminate the crashes?

Here's some tips to improve performance in general.

One of the things that I've found that can cause occasional crashes is long
paths to a backend in a split database when the resources are already low,
especially if the drives are either slow or of the type that spin down to
save power.
