is very frustrating. IMHO, it seems to be a step backwards than compare
with the Office 2000 and Office XP dev versions.....

Here are my questions:

Q1. Is there any way to make multiple shortcuts besides the main d
without having to use ORCA? So for the additional files I add to th
package, I would like to make different shortcuts for them.

Q2. After building the msi, I find that installing via the CUSTO
button and changing the installation directory will result in NOT bein
able to uninstall the folder you had installed!
Meaning:
1. Install to custom path.
2. Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs
3. It goes through the motions of a usual uninstall BUT it does NO
remove the files and folder!!!

Could anyone be able to shed some light on these questions, especiall
Q2. I have used ORCA but am not very proficient at using it.....

THanks in advance to all

Hi,

The ADE Package wizard only supports creating a Start menu and Desktop
shortcut for you main application. Before tackling Orca to add additional
shortcuts, I'd suggest checking out some of the other MSI editors available
on the web. There are several companies that make freeware or shareware MSI
editors that have this capability and that should meet your needs. I'm sure
you can find some recomendation in the archive of
microsoft.public.access.devtoolkits.

I've reproduced the problem you describe regarding the failure to remove
all files after an installation to a custom folder. I've reported this as a
problem to the development team. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
