Access 2003 on Server 2003

Is there something that prevents Server 2003 from running Access 2003?

I've installed Office 2003 and everything runs fine except Access. This
server is not set up as a web server (yet, though I intend for it to be
later). Haven't been able to find anything regarding restrictions in
previous posts or at microsoft.com.

TIA,
John

Are you logged in as a local computer administrator, or as a user with
limited rights?

I am logged on as a local admin.

I have verified my software by installing on a workstation. The problem only
exists on my server. When I try to run Access the MSInstaller runs. Messages
states that it is collecting data. It disappears and nothing else happens.
No identifiable tasks are running or hung.

Okay, John

I have used A2003 on Win Server 2003, so it is possible. I was not using
Win2003 as a web server, so the configuration was close to default.

Is it possible that you have locked something down that could prevent the
Office install from completing? Do Word and Excel have the same problem?

I'll bet you are correct; permissions are probably preventing it from
running. I'll look into that. (Guess I was feelin' lazy!) Thanks for the
reply, Allen.

We user W2003 Server as our Terminal Server running Access2003 without any
problem. Most users go directly to the application using log-in script (?)
and do not have access to the TS Desktop. Some users do have access to the
W2003 / TS Desktop and can run Access2003. Either way, Access2003 works
fine.

The Application log of the W2003 Server should have a number of entries
(source: MsiInstaller) that you can check.
