Access 2007 Autoformat works sporadically

Weird thing Sometimes when I create a form and apply an autoformat using the
module style, it works just fine, other times it merely gives a solid blue
background.... HAs anyone run into this unexpected behaivor?

I have the same problem. When I view the Northwind database, everything looks right. When I create my own, there are no patterns or gradients with the autoformat options...it is like a layer is missing. I have compared settings and can find no difference. What am I missing?
