Access 2007 HTML toolbar does not show when the field is in a subf

Access 2007 memo fields can be set to HTML format (acTextFormatHTMLRichText)
and the formatting toolbar is available ONLY when the field is on a form -it
does NOT become active IF the field is on a subform. Is there a solution to
this problem?
