Access 2007 Link table manager giving ODBC called failed

I have a SQL Server 2008 and an Access 2007 front end.
I can link and relink fine to SQL Server 2008, but when I try to do a relink
with "Always prompt for new location" selected I get a ODBC call failed. I
get just that error and no other options besides OK.
Not sure what is happening.
