Access 2007 Ribbon Custom images??

Mark Andrews

I started playing with the Access2007 ribbon and found many sites such as:
http://www.ribboncreator.de/en/
and
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/aa905530.aspx

My question is about having custom images (which are stored in the database)
and what is the best
way to store and retrieve these images and what format should the images be?

This thread is very similar to the question I have, just looking for the
best approach for everything relating to custom images for use in a ribbon.

Would anyone have a sample or advise on this topic (other than the links
above),
Thanks in advance,

Already had that link. My question was what is your recommended approach.
Did you throw the german modules they use into your db or use another set of
modules dealing with images or somehow use an attachments field?

I don't want to store the images outside the db so that one is out because
of my preference.

I have not yet tried this, just reading up about it in preparation.
Did you find the English modules on that site?

I tried the various samples, not sure if I found what you call the "English
modules"? Example User defined icons/pictures in ribbon controls says the
module comes from
http://www.access-im-unternehmen.de/index1.php?id=300&BeitragID=337 and it
looks to work well. Would love a module without so much german (I took 3
years of german in college but I'm still a little rusty).

I'm more wondering if anyone has the best solution around for custom images.
Maybe what they use is the best solution, not sure?
I'm hoping to convert a big solution to Access2007 and I know I will need
custom images on the ribbon.

I don't think I will use any tool to construct the XML, I'm pretty
comfortable just editing XML by hand and in general what I have recently
learned about ribbon customization doesn't seem too bad or difficult with
custom images being the only part that I don't see a lot of consistancy
about the best approach. Microsoft
says do it one way, the ribboncreator say do it another. There's image code
such as:
http://www.jamiessoftware.tk/articles/handlingimages.html that's also
different.

I haven't dealt with images very much so just trying to get some opinions on
the best way to proceed. Do you have an opinion?
