I have a brand new database that is in Access 2007. Upon reading I have
learned that this version of Access does not have user level security. Anyone
know why or how to get around this oh so complex problem?

WHEN TRYING TO SAVE AS MDB I GO TO OFFICE BUTTON SAVE AS BUT IT"S ONLY
LETTING ME SAVE THE DOC IN THE DATABASE NOT THE ACTUAL DATABASE ITSELF.

User level security is supported in access 2007 if you use the mdb format in
place of the accDB format.

so, if you have an application that was developed before 2007, you can use
that application in 2007, and you can use ULS if you want. Access 2007 will
present the workgroup options in the ribbon if you use a mdb file.

if you created a accDB file, and use the office button and use save-as
option to covert the accDB to a mdb file (at which point you be able to use
and implement user level security).

It doesn't have to be developed in a previous version of Access --
MDB is a native A2007 format, and there is a specific A2007 MDB
format, in fact.

The restriction is not in A2007, nor in the ACE. It's in the ACCDB
file format.
