Access 2007 - Slow Report Export to Word

I have an end user who is exporting a large Access report to a Word document.
Under Office 2003, it was taking 30 seconds to create the document. Now
under Office 2007, it is taking 6-9 seconds per page (~500 pages).

Exporting the same report as a .pdf takes about 25 seconds and exporting as
a .snp takes about 15 seconds.

Does anybody have any advice for optimizing the export to Word?
