Access 2007 Split Database

Tired

Hi,
I have successfully split my database and can access the tables over our
network. The database is small (1600K). I split the database using the
wizard. I relinked the tables using the (\\) format. Right now to run a query
that took approximately 1/2 sec on my computer, over the network takes about
2 minutes. I don't see anyone else having these issues. I have tried putting
the database (unsplit) on the network so multiple people can use this but the
access time is just as bad if not worse. I have tried making the directory
with the database available off line but this does not seem to have any
affect. I am using Vista. Normal access times to the directory are reasonable
(1.6 mb pdf file opens in about 1.5 seconds). I would like the tables on the
network for access by everyone but this just does not seem to work.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is so slow?

Thank-you,

Work through Tony Toews' suggestions here:

Most of the ones that say "Access 2000" also apply to all the later
versions.
