Access 2007 upgrade from ADP 2000 format

After opening the MDB, the "Save As, (Save Project As) Access 2007 Database"
is grayed out, why? The 2002-2003, and ?2000 formats choices are availabe.

I am nearly sure that the file is currently a ADP format 2000. Is there a
way to know this via a dialog somewhere?

Opens fine and seems functional although the "Save as ADE" errors with the
message reading - "You cannot create a <> ADE or MDE file from a database
saved in <> 2000 format."

The MDB connection properties display that it is currently pointing to a SQL
2005 instance where I restored the database; I reverted this to a SQL 2000
instance - seems to not have mattered either way.

Thanks!

Are you opening MDB file or ADP file? MDB file cannot be saved as ADP file,
vice versa.

Again, is it MDB or ADP? MDB can be linked to SQL Server via ODBC, while ADP
connects to SQL Server via OLEDB. Whether it is SQL Server2000 or 2005, it
has no affect on what Access file format you use.

You must first convert the file to the current format (the format of the
database you are working in) before saving as an MDE or ADE. 2002 and 2003
have the same format. earlier formats are different with each version.
Access 2007 has its own format too.

Supposition: Access 2007 does not host an ADP specific version.

Proof case: when I created a test accdb and upsized it saying “create a new
adp file,†the newly created binary when opened displays as 2002-2003 format
in the header.
