Access 2007 - viewing Access objects

Trish

Hi, I have been using Access 2003 and find Access 2007 VERY different! When
I select the option of a new blank database, I can only see the tables. I
would like to see the list, like with 2003, of Tables, Queries, Forms,
Reports, Macros etc. I did find an option to show all access objects, but it
doesn't actually show them all. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many
thanks.

You are correct; the changes to the user interface between Access 2003 and
Access 2007 (in fact, all of Office, not just Access) are the most dramatic
changes, ever. To just call it "VERY different" might be an understatement,
or might mean you are just being polite. :)

The database window, familiar since Access 1.0, has been replaced by the
Navigation Pane, and there is no option to "use classic interface". You can
navigate to each type of object, but learning to use the Navigation Pane is
the only choice if you are to use Access 2007.

Trish:

It does take a while to get used to the new interface. However, you can
show all items by selecting the dropdown and selecting the two items:
OBJECT TYPE
and
ALL ACCESS OBJECTS

Try this it worked well for me to get use to the new UI.
Right click the "All Access Objects" bar - move to Catagory then click
"Object Type".
If all objects do not show, right click "All Access Objects" again, then
click "Show all groups".
Tables, Queries, Forms and Report bars should appear. click the Chevons on
each bar to expand or collapse each group.
