Does access 2007 (unlike 2003) have builtin fiunction for median calculations?

No. However, it's pretty easy to write your own Median function. See, for
example, my October, 2005 "Access Answers" column in Pinnacle Publication's
"Smart Access". You can download the column (and sample database) for free
