Access 2007

could someone confirm the following:

I have acces 97 database and need to convert this to acces 2007. Can this be
done, or do I need to convert it first to access 2003? (I beleive 97 was
programmed differntly than 2003)

it's a good idea if you make a backup before you convert your database to
2007
