Access 2007

I have tried using Access 2007 a few times, but just can't get used to it, or
it's not intuitive enough - anyone else having this issue?

Is there much benefit from moving from Access 2003 to 2007? Am I missing
out on some great functionality or should I just stick with the 03 version?

Thanks!!

Z,

I have been using Access 2007 since it was in beta and I will not go back to
Access 2003.

It does take a little/lot getting used to but the new data types and
functionality are worth the effort and frustration. Check out Allen Browne's
website to get a list of the changes that will cause you heartburn. Then I
would say jump into it with both feet. I am sure that you'll be very
pleasantly surprised with your ability to create very attractive/user
friendly applications.

My favorite feature is the multivalue field. The graphics capability is
another nice improvement over 2003.

And if you live in an area with a good Access trainer who has mastered
A2007, I strongly suggest that you pay him/her for a class. Qualify these
folks by asking them about problems you have had with the problem. If the
person doesn't have a solution or in depth knowledge of A2007, look elsewhere.

The books on the market will take you part of the way to mastery of 2007 but
some things in 2007 work differently and your old 2000-2003 books may not
contain the right information, meaning that you'll be trying operations that
will fail and fail.

Also make sure that you keep A2007 up to date. MS has fixed some of the
initial bugs.

Good luck.

David
