I' having a strange problem. A couple of years ago I wrote
a little Access 95 database for a customer. They'd been
using it witout problems for years but recently they have
switched their machine to more recent version of Windows
and Office (97). The database stopped working,
conversion to Access 97 didn't work so they sent me the MDB
file.
I installed Access 95 on my Win98 machine (I had no Office
installed before although I might have had some Office
components hanging around, who knows...). The database
is in fact not working. I'm getting a very strange error:
the VB compiler doesn't recognize QueryDef as valid
type name. Database or Table are OK, QueryDef - isn't.
VB compiler also complains about the standard function
Year (!). It is very strange. I tried moving components up
and down on references list, nothing seems to work.
And I'm having more weird behaviours like reports that
are supposed to be displayed in Preview mode are being sent
directly to the printer (as in Normal mode)... And so on.
Does anyone has ANY idea what is the problem?
