Access 97 & 2000 - Switching from 97 to 2000 as default db

I have both 97 & 2000 versions of Access running on my PC (O/S = Windows XP)
with 97 as the recognized current db. How do I switch so that 2000 is the
recognized current db but keep both versions available?

Just open a database in 2000. That should be enough to re-register mdb
files to 2000. However, you'll find that when you switch to 97, it likely
will become registered for mdb files. If you right-click on a mdb file, you
should be able to choose Open With and choose the version.

Hi Joan
Thanks for the advice, I also changed the application associated with the
MDB file type to 2000. Now able to open 97 MDBs and convert them at will.
