Access 97 - import to Access 2002

I have a data base in Acces97 (on my win 98 system)which will need to be
converted to Access 2002 on an XP machine. The data base is not compiled
and consists of some simple tables, queries, reports and menus.

Am I right in thinking Access2002 needs an XP machine?

I wonder if I can import the data directly table by table, or just click on
the mdb file on the Access 2002 system to open it, or if I have to carry out
some sort of conversion process .. just trying to get an idea of what I will
have to do.

Am a bit of a newbie learning as I go along, & any response would be much
appreciated.

Access 2002 works okay on a Win98 machine.
(A2003 requires Win 2000 or XP.)

To convert the database, just open it with A2002.
At that point, Access asks if you want to Open or Convert.
Choose Convert.
Basically that's it.

If the conversion fails, or you would like to avoid the new problems that
arise in A2002, see:
