ACCESS 97 to ACCESS 2007 - import issues due to path and permissio

I made a copy of the 97 app and tables-both mdb type files from the host PC
Then I imported the tables and data and queries without a hitch.
When I attempted to load the app I received a message that it could not
find the G:\\ path and also mentioned the need for a password.
Since this app in used in production, I am attempting to perform the upgrade
from my home PC.
Do I have to perform the upgrade from 97 to 2007 on the host for this to work?

You don't need to be on the host to do this, no.

When the app opens, then must be some code or a form that opens on
startup. It likely is looking for G:\\ because that is where it thinks
the backend is still located.

Go to Tools, Database Utilities, Linked Table Manager; put a check in
the bottom to 'ask for location' and relink the tables to where the
backend is located on the PC you're working on.

When you return it to work, you'll need to repeat this the refresh the
links to the location of the new backend.
