Access Admin Login Troubles

Hey, I just installed the three service packs for access 2000 and no
when I try to open my secured database and log in as Admin it give
me the following error

"You do not have the necessary permissions to use the 'name.mdb
object. Have your system administrator or the person who created thi
object estacblish the appropriate permissions for you.

Also, when I try to log in as any of the users I had set up it no
says "Not a valid account or password". I assume that if I go back t
before the service packs it should work again, but does anyone hav
any idea why this would happen

I am getting very frustrated, please help! Thanks

One would expect that the Admin user would not have any permissions.

Are you logging in via a desktop shortcut, or just double-clicking the mdb
file?

Use Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe to check which workgroup file you are joined to
by default.

It worked for quite a while just clicking on the .mdb, but I hav
created a new .mdw file and created a desktop shortcut and it didn'
help. The user account I logged in on usually now says that th
account doesn't exist. I had manually created an Admin login in th
wizard that is what I was trying to log into. Thanks

You wouldn't need to create a new mdw file; just use the secure one you used
before. Your shortcut should have the following as the target:

"path to msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure.mdw"

That's because you aren't using the correct workgroup file.

There is already a user named Admin; you can't create a second user with
that name. Please be specific. Do you mean you created a user with
administrative permissions?

Use Start, Search and locate all *.mdw files on your computer. What are
their paths?

User Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe to see what mdw you are currently joined to by
default. What is it?

Alright, it looks like a accidently deleted the mdw file a couple day
back (after problem started). I can't afford an access recover
person, is there anyways I can recreate the mdw file with nothing t
go on but the names that I put in the first time? I'm worried. Thank
for the help

I finally got it to prompt me, but it still doesn't give me access

an account with administrative rights that is just my name, no
called admin, sorry

Nope. You need the ID values that were entered as well.

Did you check your recycle bin?
