Access and Infopath

This was posted by somebody a few days ago, but go no
replies. I am having the exact same issue. Has anyone been
able to resolve it yet? Thanks in advance!....

I created an Access 2003 database, and then created an
Infopath form based on it. When both Infopath form and
Access database are saved on my computer (C: drive), they
work well. I can enter new record and query the database.
But after I published the Infopath form to SHAREPOINT form
library, they didn't work no matter whether I saved the
Access database in my C: drive or in a Server. When I
tried to run a query, I just got the message 'Infopath
cannot run the specified query' and 'InfoPath cannot
connect to the data source. Safety settings on this
computer prohibit accessing a data source on another
domain.' Any help and suggestion with regard to solve the
problem will be highly appreciated. Please reply to

I haven't had a chance to set this up and test it, but I believe you are
running into permissions issues.
Put the database where you want it and the form where you want it.
Then reconnect the form to the database.
Make sure the form Security level is set to Full Trust.

If this doesn't work, I'll try setting up something to try and repro your
problem.

Well I am posting this form to a sharepoint services site
on a server remote from my location. What I need to do is
set the form on this site and then be able to link it to
the database which would be somewhere else where users can
use it at any time from any location. Would this be
accomplished through someone who has local access to the
server running sharepoint to deposit the DB on it and set
the data connection?

Once the db is set up, you would go through InfoPath to point to the new
location.

Yeah, but the bottom line question I am trying to get at,
is how do I point it at a database on the sharepoint
services site? Is it possible even? Basically I need
people outside of the domain where the db resides to be
able to submit/retrieve from it using InfoPath forms
located on the sharepoint site.

Hi,
It seems the basic issue is this, that you want to use Access DB as SQL
Server, Access DB is optimized to use on a single machine or a small org.
have you tried using SQL Server..?
