Access as frontend for Firebird?

Is anyone using, or exploring the possibility of using MS Access in
any way to access / manipulate / edit / display or report on data in
an open source SQL database like Firebird (similar to Interbase)?

I played with it a bit a few months back and ran into no problems. I didn't
really get much beyond linking some tables and making sure I could query and
update them without errors.
