access autonumber change

You can append a record with the value one-less that the one you're seeking
using an append query, but if you care what the value is, you _shouldn't_ be
using an autonumber. They're not guaranteed to be consecutive, or even
sensible, only unique (and even that's disputed). If you care what the
value is, roll your own. There are a bunch of samples on
www.mvps.org/msaccess.
