Access Chinese?

Martin Schneider

Hi there,

I didn't know where to post this, so please forward me if I'm wrong here :)

There's an Access 2000 of mine database running in a company. The
manager of the chinese daughter company saw the software and wants to
use it there as well.

Can somebody give me a primer what problems may occur on this?

Best regards,
Martin

As you seem to be German, there is a German Access newsgroup:
microsoft.public.de.access

FAQ: 1.19 DB auf anderssprachigem System - www.donkarl.com?FAQ1.19

Next to the issues with [Ereignisprozedur] and Formulare! mentioned in FAQ
there have always been problems with umlaut (äöü) and ß in object or
control names, e.g. "Formularfuß".

I am aware of that. Thougt this was more suitable for an international
audience.

Thanks anyway, and thanks for the link.

Hi Martin,

Are you still interested in information on this matter?

I am nearly finished building a DB for Australia, China, Japan and
other countries.

Sure - as I have to quote the modification for the Chinese.

Do you want to discuss this publicly, so others can find the information
here later, or shall I write PM?

Best regards,
Martin
