Access configuration progress

Arnaud

Hi everybody,

I've install Office 2007 and Office 2003 on Vista.
Each time, I run MS Access 2007, it run the configuration window.
As I run Access minimum 10 times per day, it's very annoying

How can I avoid this ?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Unfortunately, you can't avoid it.

Fortunately, Microsoft's aware of the problem, and there may be some relieve
when SP1 comes out.

Unfortunately, no date has been announced for SP1 yet.

Hi everyone-
I am having the EXACT same problem, however, at our office 3 of our
computers are having this problem without even having Access open! Is there
really nothing we can do to not have this happen? And is there any reason why
the other 3 computers are not having this same problem when they all have MS
Office and Windows XP? HELP PLEASE!

I have Office 2003 and Office 2007 installed. Prior to the last automated
Windows Update I could open Word and Access 2007 with no problem. However,
since the latest patches were automatically applied, whenever I open either
of these, I get the "configuration progress" window reported by so many other
people in this forum and others. There MUST have been something in the latest
release of patches which caused it. Does anyone (from MS) know what? And how
to fix it?

Funnily enough, it doesn't happen for Outlook or Excel, only Access and Word.

Potentially related Application Event Log entries are as follows;

"Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 -- Configuration failed."

"Would be blocked by access protection rule (rule is in warn-only mode)
(Common Standard Protection:prevent common programs from running files from
the Temp folder)."

Thanks!

Sorry about the previous blank.
I have only Office 2007 installed. I previously had 2003 but removed both
2003 and 2007. Removed the sub directories in Program Files. Cleaned the
registry with CCleaner. Installed Office 2007. I ran Microsoft Office
Diagnostics. When I open Access and open an accdb I get get a Configuring
Office Ultimate 2007 message. If I open an mdb I do not get the configuration
message. When I open The Master Genealogist v7 I also get a Configuring
Office Ultimate 2007 message which goes on and on and on.

deitzingham,

Not sure why you never got it before but it happens all the time for me.
The updates merely shortened the configuration process. I should also note,
I know of no way to make it go away.
