Hi everyone:

The problem started when two users tried to change the same record at the
same time. The record now displays strange characters and chinese letters. I
am just trying to delete the record but I cant, it return a message that says
"The search key was not found in any record" I can't neither retype anything
in that record
PLease, if somebody knows out there what to do, let me know.
Thanks a lot, Lucy

Before you try anything, take a backup copy of the database file in case you
make things worse.

First thing to try is a compact/repair.

Next thing to try is to create a new database and import everything from the
damaged one.

I just ran into this same problem with my users. They both tried to access
the same record and got Chinese characters in the record. They can then not
delete the record. I came up with the same solution. My question is this:
What caused this problem and how can I avoid it in the future? I was under
the impression that Access 2003 always locks records. Do I need to build in
my own lockout facility? If anyone knows about this, I would appreciate
help. Thanks, Ruth
