Access Database Size

I'm finding that databases created in Access 2007 are huge in comparison to
the same database that was created in 2003 or earlier versions; a small
sample database with 10 records in 2 tables, 3 reports and 1 form can easily
climb to 2MB. I have been teaching for a number of years and this is the
first time that I have experienced this type of problem. Some, but not all
students are using Vista. If the database is compacted after adding a new
form or report it will decrease between 25-75% in size.

Has anyone notice this? I'm wondering if all the extra "fluff" added to
reports is causing this. Any clues would be helpful as I continually run out
of storage space on school computers when students upload their assignments.
