Access denied error for all users

Simon

Hi,

I’ve tried installing project server 2007 a few times now but for some
reason each time a user tries to access the site they get the message “access
denied-

I’ve installed project server 2007
Created the shared service
Created the PWA site (http://mysite/pwa)
I can access the “Project server†settings and “site settingsâ€
A user tried to access the site, but got the error “Access deniedâ€, so they
requested acces. The email went to me, I clicked on the link to grant the
user access.
I added the user t the “Full Control – Has Full Control†and the “Web
Administrators (Microsoft Office Project Server†. An email was then sent to
the user welcoming them to the site.
When the user tried to access the site they got the error “Access denied†as
above.

I’ve then
• add the user to the “site collection administratorsâ€
• Added the “Add all unauthenticated users†and given the group “Full
Controlâ€
But the user still cannot access the site.

On the user’s Pc, I select “logon as another user†and used my credentials
and it worked, so I know it not anything to do with the user’s PC settings.
Anything else I could try?
Thanks
Simon

My apoligies if this ends up getting posted twice but for some reason, some
of my responses never show up on the newsgroup or show up only after a few
days. Here is my response again to your question:

"PWA is a bit different than a standard SharePoint site. You can't just
give
them rights to the site. You have to give them security rights through
Project Server security which is found under PWA>Server Settings>Manage
Users. In the out of the box security setup, if you add the user to the
Team Members group, they will have sufficient rights to log onto PWA."

Thanks Jonathan for your prompt reply,

So for every licensed user that I want to add the PWA I need to add them via
PWA>Server Settings>Manage Users>New User? If I just add their domain name,
will AD synch their details?

Just so I'm clear on this, what is the purpose of adding the user via site
settings>Advanced Permissions and adding the user the to "Web Administrators
(Microsoft Office Project Server" group or any other?

thanks
Simon
