Hi,
We have an InfoPath 2003 template up an running for a couple years on a
SharePoint 2003 server. Recently, it seems, an update deployed in our company
has caused users running InfoPath 2007 to be unable to open the forms. The
form has been working correcly for all these years and now is unable to
access a web service which is running on a diffrent server from where the
form is published.
When a user opens the form the following error appears:
"Infopath contacted a data source but failed to receive data. The form will
load withouth the requested data"
On clicking the Details button:
InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form.
InfoPath cannot open the form. To fix this problem, contact your system
administrator.
Form template: <URLof the form in Sharepoint ommited>
The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: GetName
InfoPath cannot run the specified query.
Access is denied.
I have verified that the IE settings allows to access web services in a
diffrent domain. I also created a new form template which connects to this
web service and I receive the same error. Only when I changed the form
template to Full Trust it is able to connect to the web service. On other
machines running InfoPath 2007 it works Ok, so it makes me wonder if it is
related to a patch or a change in Windows settings. Which settings in IE,
Windows or Infopath could cause this situation to happen? Are there any
workarounds other than running the form in Full Trust?
