Access file on server won't open

MS Access files stored on our server won't open from any other computer. I
get this message when I try to open - "This file is located outside your
intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due
to potential security problems. To open the file, copy it to your machine or
an accessible network location." If I copy the file to my machine it will
open, but we need to keep the file on the server.

The implication of the error message is that the person trying to gain
access to the file is not authorized. Have your network folks checked to be
sure that person has read and write permissions?

I haven't checked with our computer geek, but I can't understand why files
from Access are the only ones that I have problems with.

To help narrow it down, you might:

- Try different methods of opening it i.e.

- With a shortcut
- navigate to the file and the open it
- Open Access and then try to open the file in Access.

- Also, in the error message box, see which program (e.g. Access, Window,
IE etc.) is generating the message.
