I am trying to find the average days between orders and shipments for
2001, grouped by employee. Every time I put the fields in it asks for
ship date and order date. HELP!!!

Carrie, you can see your tables, your queries, your screen.

We cannot.

We're just volunteers here, not magicians. Please post the relevant
details of your table structure and the SQL view of the query. Where
are the ship date and order date stored in your database, for example?
It's presumably asking for them because they're not in any of the
tables in your query... but we can't see the query and don't know what
table they'd be in!
