Access Import Specification Limited in # of fields?

Can someone answer for me, are Import Specifications in
Access limited in the number of fields they can handle? Or
perhaps in the length of the record?

I am attempting to add a field to the end of a
Specification. The field would be the 24th field in the
Spec, with a character position of 445-462. These don't
sound like they would be too much for Access to handle,
but when I add the field and then attempt to save the
Spec, it removes all fields after the 23rd before asking
me for the name to save it under.

Is there another reason for this behavior out of Access?

TIA

255 fields, and (I believe) 2000 bytes).

That's peculiar! I've imported much larger tables. It may be a
limitation of the import wizard, or perhaps a bug!
