Access in Office XP

My Access has suddenly stopped functioning.
It will not open older databases nor create new ones.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Access as well as the whole Office XP Pro
Suite.

Any help will be most appreciated.

The program is absolutely right; therefore, the computer must be wrong.
