Access Locks up when I import tables

Every time I import a table from a 2003 database to a 2007 database, Access
locks up when I open the table. I can open it in design view and then go to
datasheet view but if I attempt to open the table directly to datasheet view,
the program locks up and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out.

Is there a new way to import tables that I'm not aware of? Is there an extra
step I should be taking? Is there a problem with 2007 tables that didn't
exist with 2003 (and previous) databases?

This problem is driving me absolutely batty. I have lots of tables with
thousands of records. The only solution I can find is to retype all the
information.

Is it all the tables or just certain tables that have the problems? If it's
just a particular table or two, is there something like hyperlinks or photos
in the table?

Either way, I'd be worried that your 2003 database is corrupt. Make a backup
then do a Compact and Repair.

Do you have all the service packs and updates for Office 2007 installed?
Maybe there's a bug fix missing for your problem.

If worse comes to worse, I can think of some other options besides retyping
all the records.

1. Make a copy of the Access 2003 database then covert it to Access 2007
format.

2. Link to the 2003 tables from 2007. Then do make table queries from the
linked tables to new tables in 2007.

3. Export the 2003 tables as Excel or CSV files then import them into 2007.
