Access or Outlook

I asked this in Outlook newsgroup, but I figure maybe
someone here would know too:

I have a booking module I want to move out of a DOS
program to a Office program. Not sure if Outlook or
Access is better.

This is to book appointments for our contractors. Each
contractor has two sessions a day. Each session can hold
up to 24 appointments (so for each contractor, a day can
have up to 48 appts). A day is closed automatically if
it's within 48 hrs (for today, Nov 14th would be closed
from booking regardless of if there are openings or not).

For one contractor, customer service has to fill up the
earliest date before going to another day. Therefore we
would have to have something automated to not open up
other booking days til that earliest day is fully booked.

The booking info consist of the person's id, name,
address, phone, etc.

Is this something that Access or Outlook would handle? I
only thought of Outlook because of the public calendar
option.

Thanks.
