Access/Outlook Security emailing attachments

D

Dave Davis

this is the biggest pain in the butt that I have ever come across with
Microsoft. We have many databases on our network that email attachments to
people "inner office"... now every time we click a button to email something,
its not only asking for security acess to Outlook, but the new message in
2003 comes up to wait for 5 seconds and then click yes to email it. That
double redundancy. The first security question should be enough. Not only
that, we should be able to disable these two "features" within the Office
product. We just made the shift to 2004 here at work and we have WAY too
many users calling our help desk freaking out that there are security
messages coming up. What Microsoft doesn't realize sometimes, is the fact
that 60 or 70% of its user base, are very basic users, sometimes computer
"illiterate". They don't like heavy change and hate having to click more
than one button to run a report and have it sent to their department.
Outside security, I can see the need for, but as for internal emailing
thorugh exchange, this should be able to be turned off. Is there any chance
that these will be come configurable options in the future? Thanks, Dave
